For Christmas Mom gave all of us a day out together. We got up really early this morning and drove to Logan to Hardware Ranch. We had never been and trusted our map on my phone and it led us to town so we turned around and eventually found it. It is a pretty cool elk refuge in the winter. The elk have a place to come down and eat and we got to see them up close. It was cold but we were glad for the sunshine and that we arrived early and didn't have to wait long. We had a quick snack/lunch and then drop to Crystal Hot springs. The water felt nice but it could use some updating. Tabitha is the only one that did the water slide and she did not want to leave. We then wen to Maddox for dinner. It is so yummy and they put us in our own room which was great with the kids. We ended the night at Mom's with Maddox pie and some fun outfits and souvenirs that she brought us all back from her recent rip to Thailand. It was a fun day spent together with family.
Winston has been much better in the snow this winter then he has ever been. We still need to shovel a small patch for him in the grass but today he went right out even in the snowstorm.
Scott called last night and said he was going to be flying in and out of Heber this afternoon. The girls and I were over at the airport by about 12:30. We heard Scott on the radio and went out to the runway and watched him land. Tabitha was super cute waving to him. Once his passenger got off we got to see him and his plane. We visited for about 30 minutes and then headed to church. It was fun and we wished he flew int Heber more often.
We were so excited to go to Universal Studios on this trip. We have not been with the kids and it has been years since I was here. Gabrielle is just now reading the 7th Harry Potter book so seeing Harry Potter world was a must! We went straight there and it was fantastic! It is so cool to see. We rode the first ride, Harry Potter and the forbidden journey, you walk through the castle and all the details are amazing. It was a simulator so Emily and I could only do it the one time but lucky Mimi, Papa Fife and Vanessa got there and they rode it again with Brandon and the girls. Cassidy, Hannah and Jake met up with us and spent most of the day riding the rides with us. We stood in line at Olivanders and there small wand choosing program which was super fun. The girls each picked a wand, Gabrielle Neville Longbottom and Tabitha Luna Lovegood. We had a yummy lunch at the 3 broomsticks and the butter beer was amazing! We walked around the rest of the park but ended the night back in Harry Potter world. The girls each had money to spend and we rode the flight of hippogriff several times and had some yummy warm butter beer. It was a fun day! We said goodbye to the Fife's and headed to a different hotel an hour closer to home.
