Happy Halloween

The girls had no school today, which was so nice!  We made some "witches brew" for dinner.  We were excited to have Emily join us tonight, she makes a really cute Owl!  We had fun doing a Star Wars theme this year.  Winston especially loved the trick or treating, we all loved the warm weather.

Pumpkin carving

This month has gone by so fast!  We realized we had not carved pumpkins yet and didn't have any free nights this week when we would all be together.  The girls and I got pumpkins at Walmart this afternoon.  Brandon got them started on cleaning out the pumpkins and carving while I went to YW and then came home and finished up.

Primary program

The girls participated in  the primary program today.  They both did great on their speaking parts and singing with the primary.  They are both so cute and won't look at Brandon or I, I think they get nervous.  They both will sneak little peaks just to make sure we are watching!

Family Halloween Party

 Happy to help take this photo for my sister to announce that she and her husband Ryan are having a baby in April next year!  We are so excited!!

 We love getting together each year with my family to celebrate Halloween.   We had lunch, went on a scavenger hunt around the yard and just played.  We have had the best fall weather.   We had fun putting together our Star Wars themed costumes even getting one for Winston.   We seem to start talking about costumes as soon as Halloween is over for the next year, Tabitha wanted to be an Ewok, we even tried to talk her out of it and gave her several other suggestions but she stood her ground and I am glad she did.   The only costumes I could find to buy were toddler size so I ordered a brown sweatshirt and pants and my Mom made her costume.  It turned out better then I could have imagined and Tabitha was super excited!!   Ewoks don't talk so she just ran around making funny faces and noises.  Gabrielle was a cute Princess Leia, the brown hair kept throwing me off.   Brandon and I borrowed our costumes from our friends and I had told Brandon that we had a costume for him.  He wanted to be Luke Skywalker but I do not know my Star Wars characters very well so I just kept reassuring him that he had a costume.  When we got them he told me that this was not Luke but a Jedi.  He got online and ordered a costume that will get here next week in time for Halloween.  I need to watch the shows again!

Sea World

 

Today we checked out of our hotel and headed to our second day at Sea World.  We went right to the Manta ride, Brandon and Tabitha rode it 6 times, Gabrielle 4 and me 3, one right after the other.  Both days of Sea World were pretty quiet so we were able to just get off the ride and get right back on.  Sitting in the front was I think a favorite for everyone!  I liked the dolphin show from Friday and wanted to see it again but a baby was born over the weekend so they were not doing their regular show.  Instead they had the baby out swimming with the Mom for us to see, pretty cool.   We rode Journey to Atlantis two times, they didn't even make us get off.  We figured out from last week that the person sitting in the very front got the most wet, so we left that seat open and only got a little wet both times.  We had a great vacation and are sad to head back home.  

Mormon Battalion

We had fun visiting the Mormon Battalion VC in old town.  The missionaries wear period clothing and the exhibits and story that was told was very fun and interactive.  We got to pan for gold at the end, which the girls loved.  We then walked around old town and had some yummy Mexican food for lunch.

San Diego Temple

We enjoyed walking around the San Diego Temple grounds this morning.  It is such a beautiful temple and again the weather was perfect.  Tabitha was loving the camera and kept posing for me to take photos.  Gabrielle on the other hand didn't really want to be in many photos.  The Seahawks were playing so Brandon had the game playing on his phone, we were all decked out in our seahawks gear, except me, I was just in blue.

Beach

 

We met up with Diana's two sisters and their families for breakfast this morning before heading to the beach.  The weather did not look that great so we were happy that the closer we drove to the beach the clearer the blue sky looked and it ended up being a perfect day.  We met up with Scott and Kristonie who brought along 3 boogie boards.  We had a great time riding the waves on the boards.  I was happy that Gabrielle and Tabitha both tried them out and had so much fun.  I even got in the cold water, which once you got in was not that bad.  We all came home with quite a lot of sand stuck in our swimming suits!   I sure do love the beach and would have loved another day to play in sand and water.  We were all pretty exhausted so we went back to our hotel and showered and headed to dinner in our jammies.
