excited for a cousin and that she can hold her all by herself!

My sister Kathryn and husband Cole had a little baby girl on Thursday Feb. 16th. Layni J was born at 11:04 pm and weighed 9lbs. 6 oz. and was 20 3/4". We had so much fun holding her today, she is a beautiful little baby! Gabrielle drew her a little picture and Tabitha when not holding her kept saying, "where is Layni J?".

Sledding

Tabitha's sunbeam leaders invited her class over today for sledding. Brother Cowley hooked up a few sleds and pulled us around behind his tractor. Tabitha loved it as did the rest of the kids that came. We are so grateful for wonderful church teachers and we are lucky to have the Cowleys, they are the best sunbeam teachers, Gabrielle had them as well.

Scripture reading

The girls came home from primary last month with a scripture reading chart with stories to read each week to do all year. We have been doing a little reading each night after dinner the last two weeks to catch up. As we finish certain sections they color the chart. They, or I should say Tabitha, would rather be playing and pulling funny faces but they do pretty good with sitting and listening to the stories. They are also very good with remembering the stories the next day as we review. Tabitha always has a turn reading her own scripture story when we are done as usually recounts the story in her own words!

Happy Valentine's Day

Last saturday Brandon and I went to the temple and ice cream for Valentine's Day, thanks Emily. Today I hosted Tabitha's pre-school and they had fun exchanging valentines, decorating cookies and playing games. Gabrielle had a fun party at school and came home with quite a few valentines. After Gabrielle's ballet we had dinner and chocolate covered strawberries. Tabitha put on quite a messy show for us as she ate her strawberries. I sure do love my Valentines!!

The girls were so excited when they woke up this morning to snow and a lot of it! The girls wondered why church wasn't canceled, I told them that only happens in Washington where Vanessa lives. Tabitha wanted to have a snowball fight, so after church and Brandon's meetings we played for a minute in the snow.

Another fun day playing with our friend Kate. The girls dressed up and then applied their make-up, not sure where Tabitha thought putting it on her nose was OK, but she sure is cute.

Snow play

My Mom drove up today and it was such a nice day we headed to the park. The girls loved playing in the snow, watching the ducks and sliding down the slides.

BYU Volleyball

My friend Tara's husband is the head coach for the BYU men's volleyball team. They are ranked #1 in the nation and we had fun watching them play friday night, despite them loosing. Like any sporting event, the girls kept a close eye on the mascot, Cosmo. They were also very quick to let people know that we can root for BYU when they are not playing the U.

Friends

The girls love to have friends come over and play. Today "tabitha's friend Kate" came over and they all played really great together. They set up ther ponies at the bottom of the stairs and were really cute listening to. I love where we live and all the wonderful friends that we have, for the girls and for me!
