Head stand

The girls both have gymnastics on Mondays.  After FHE they set up a blankets for their "stage" and entertained us with their moves.  Brandon got in on it by doing a head stand.  I don't know if I can even do a cart wheel anymore!

St. George Sunday

We had a nice weekend in St. George with my Grandpa and family.  I am so glad that we made the quick trip down.  I got a text from a friend that said the girls looked really cute at church today, Brandon had to wash and dry their hair.

Zoo

While I was in St. George the girls had a great weekend with Brandon.  They watched The Empire Strikes Back last night and had fun at at the zoo today.  We never make it to the zoo in the winter but I think the animals are a lot more active, they had fun.

Grandpa Lucas

My Grandpa Lucas, My Mom's Dad, has Liver cancer.  He lives in St. George and we were able to see him on our way to Disneyland last year but he is slowly declining.  My Mom, Kathryn, Kristen, Layni and I drove down yesterday to spend the weekend with him.  My Aunt Caroline was there from Oregon and my Aunt Wendy from Las Vegas and her daughter, my cousin Melissa.  It was so fun to visit with everyone and just relax and enjoy being together.  He rests a lot and we were able to listen to him to tell us a few stories this afternoon, one of which was how he met my Grandmother.  I love my Grandpa, he has been such a great example to me in my life.  He lives the perfect Christlike life and is always thinking of others.  He sends notes, conference talks, quotes and spiritual words of encouragement often.  My Grandmother passed away 17 years ago this month of cancer and I have sure missed her.

Ice Skating

My Mom came up last night and stayed the night.  I slept in and she helped them make me breakfast in bed, it was great!  With no school we just spent the day playing and then headed to Midway to ice skate in the afternoon.  This is Gabrielle's third time and Tabitha's second, they are getting more and more comfortable on the ice.  It was pretty crowded today but we had fun.

NFC championship game

The NFC championship game was today, Seahawks vs 49ers.  Seahawks won 23-17, but it was a pretty intense game.  Brandon could not sit down and Emily kept saying this is why she doesn't watch football.  We are excited for the Superbowl in 2 weeks!

Ice Fishing

Brandon went ice fishing with a friend this morning.  On his way home he called to see if the girls wanted to go out with him since he had all his gear in the car.  Tabitha jump at the chance,  Gabrielle not so much.  They had a great time and came home with two fish, Tabitha reeled in the second one.

Football Sunday

This was actually taken yesterday and we got ready to watch the playoff game, but Brandon did fly in tonight until after the girls went to bed so I am using this as our Sunday family photo for this week.   We love when Emily comes and visits!

Seahawks playoff game

A couple of weeks ago I suggested to Brandon that he should try to go to the Seahawks playoff game.  He talked to his Dad and Brother and they were both in but first they had to get tickets.  They went on sale a week ago and with several people online trying to get them they sold out within 30 minutes.  Brandon was pretty bummed, he was looking forward to it.  We looked around online and found some, a little more then we wanted to spend, but we went ahead with it.  I am glad we did because they had a great time.  Brandon flew to Seattle yesterday and enjoyed dinner at Dick's and games with his family.  The weather was crazy at the game today but they had a great time and stayed warm and dry and with a win it was even better!

Scooting in the snow

We have had several snow storms in a row this week.  I feel like I have been out every day shoveling our driveway.  Tabitha has been wanting to ride her scooter this winter so I made a path for her today and she was scooting all over the driveway and the sidewalk.  Her friend Kate got home from school and came and played with Tabitha for a bit before Tabitha had to head off to school.

First Sunday of 2014

I am way out of focus here but I love the picture.  The girls started their new primary classes, Gabrielle is now in senior primary.  I don't like having 1:00 church but I love to come home from working a grave and getting more sleep in the morning.
