Liberty Park

We met my Mom in Salt Lake at liberty park on monday. We packed a lunch and then walked over to a fun water feature that represents the seven canyons and water that come down into the Salt Lake Valley. City Creek, Red Butte, Emigration, Parleys, Millcreek, Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons, we come down Parleys when we come into to Salt Lake. The girls loved playing in the water and it was sure a beautiful day.

Moo

During breakfast the girls were moooing back and forth. It was funny to hear their conversation about proper mooos and who actually mooos.

Picnic

We deicded to have our lunch outside on thursday and all the sudden the wind picked up. Gabrielle's idea of an umbrella to keep us out of the sun was ruined. We still ate outside just kept a hand on our plates so they wouldn't blow away.

Our best bites

My mother in law gave me this recipe book a few months ago. Everything we have tried from it has been super yummy and easy and most ingredients we have on hand. Tuesday for dinner we made baked creamy chicken toquitos, this was our second time making them. The first time Gabrielle ate at least 3 without being bribed with dessert, so I would say that was a successful dinner! I actually have never been to their website before but sure do love the book and look forward to trying more recipes.

Father's Day

We sure do love our Dad around here. Brandon only had one meeting before church so the girls were able to spend the morning with him. I was hurrying to get a photo before he left, that is why the girls hair is still wet. He was home about an hour after church and he wanted steak and crab legs for dinner, which he and Gabrielle loved! Gabrielle and the primary sang two songs, which he came down and sat with Tabitha and I while they sang. It was a nice day for us and we are sure grateful for such a wonderful Dad and husband.

Chapter Books

I thought it would be fun to read chapter books with the girls before bed. We started with a Ramona book and are now reading Charolotte's Web. They have really enjoyed it and have very good memories as we review what we have read so far before we start our nights reading. Any other fun suggestions on what to read?

Fishing

Friday night we took the boat out for our last time fishing as a family. It was a beautiful night out on the lake and the girls had a great time despite not catching any fish. We will be putting the boat up for sale this weekend, if anyone is interested give us a call.

Sign

My cousin Melissa gave me a sign about 2 years ago for my birthday or Christmas that has hung above my kitchen window ever since. The only problem is it is a snow sign and doesn't fit so well in the summer but I never have taken it down. One afternoon Gabrielle and I set out to make a new sign to hang there in the summer. We had wood left over from my laundry room makeover that we spray painted and then I cut out letters on my cricut and modge podged them on the sign. Gabrielle loved it and we have been spraying painting scraps of wood for her ever since. I love looking up and seeing a sign more appropriate for summer.

While I was at work thursday night Brandon took this photo of the beautiful sunset. We really do have some wonderful sunsets in the summer.

We met up with my cousin Melissa and her family again on Wednesday at the church museum of history and art on temple square. They have a really fun children's exhibit upstairs that the kids all seemed to enjoy. We then went to Liberty park for a picnic lunch and met up with my mom to play on the playground.

Hike

Melissa trying to catch a butterfly

My cousin Melissa and her family are spending the week in Park City. We met up with them on tuesday and did a short hike and then picnic and played at the park. I told them they should leave Las Vegas and move to Heber, we would have so much fun!
