Trick or Treat

We had a fun night trick or treating, the weather was perfect.  Tabitha ran from house to house around our neighborhood, when we came back home they ate as much candy as they could!  We put the girls to bed, turned off all our lights and watched TV in our bedroom.

Pumpkin carving

 Sunday family photo.

We had fun carving our pumpkins tonight.  Brandon does most of the work so I tried not to complain to much when my arm was aching after only carving my own pumpkin!

Witches day out

Layni trying to eat Gabrielle and her hair.

 Clapping
My favorite picture of the day, Tabitha is looking at the camera and smiling. Those that know her know that this is a rare occurrence!!

Emily hosted us today for a fun and yummy lunch.  We then headed over to Gardner village to see all the witches.  Gabrielle had so much fun last year but it was so crazy busy and dark we decided to go in the afternoon this year. Gabrielle was super excited and talked it up to Tabitha, who I think had a fun time.  It was still busy but not as bad and then we could enjoy all the fun witches they have.  Thanks Emily it was a fun afternoon!

Halloween Party

Family of birds, flamingo, chicken, Jewel from Rio and a penguin
We missed Scott and Ryan and Layni was taking a nap.

We had a Halloween party at my Mom's house today.   We always have fun dressing up and I was really excited about our bird costumes this year.  My Mom helped make the penguin costume and got me started on the blue Macaw.  She crochet all of our hats, which I love and plan to wear all winter.  I really wanted to go to a pumpkin patch and pick our own pumpkins but couldn't find to many options.  We ended up just going up the road to a family with a field but they pick them and have them on their front lawn.  If anyone has  a fun pumpkin patch we can find next year please pass it on.

BYU Museum of Art

Gabrielle has fall break today and tomorrow, so we wanted to do something fun.  We went down the the BYU Museum of Art and then the creamery for ice cream.  I wanted to have the girls each choose a post card from the gift shop and look for it in the exhibit, but they didn't have anything like that in the shop.  We found 3 cards advertising the different exhibits and looked for those, they seemed to like that and keep their interest.  Andy Warhol had an exhibit and part of it was this fun room with these floating "clouds".  The girls loved running around and trying not to get hit by the balloons.  I thought it was a fun day.

Sugar Cookies

We decorated Halloween sugar cookies tonight for FHE.  Scott is always flying and happened to be off tonight so he and Kristen came up. My Mom and Nyman were driving back from St. George and met us in Orem to help with fabric for our Halloween costumes and decided to join us and stay the night to work on the costumes.  Kristen drove up after work to have fun with us as well.  We did this every year growing up and it has been such a fun tradition, here are some past years cookie decorating 2007 and  2009, not sure why I don't have photos of other years.

Crepefrence

We enjoy another day of General conference, Tabitha loved that she got to wear her pajamas all day.  We had our tradition of crepes, bacon and sausage, Brandon likes to call it "crepefrence".  Emily stayed the night and we celebrated her birthday with a yummy rib dinner and witch cupcakes for dessert.  I had told her it was OK that she didn't shower and get ready because there would be no pictures, but I had to take some of her blowing out her candles, sorry Emily!

General Conference

We enjoy watching general conference and I try to have something to keep the girls interested.  I usually print off packets from sugardoodle.net, but this year I put 4 bowls by the TV with words on each one and candy inside.  Anytime the speaker said the word the girls could get a candy out.  The first session today they got a lot of candy but the girls were listening!  I may need to switch around the words for tomorrow.  I also printed off a photo of the first presidency and the twelve and attached them to activities or snacks and when they spoke the girls could get the thing attached to the photo.

Field trip

I went with Gabrielle's first grade class on their field trip to corn belly's at thanksgiving point today.  We had a lot of fun and the weather was perfect.  It is somewhat stressful keeping an eye on 4 other kids that are not yours that all want to go in different directions but I am sure glad I got to go and spend the time with Gabrielle.
