Wedding
My cousin Chris was married this past friday, so we drove down to Salt Lake to attend the reception. It was fun to meet up with family. The in thing at receptions now is to have a candy bar and that is right where the kids were all night long. After Tabitha ran circles around us for a few mintues, my brother Jeff said he better not give her any more sugar! Gabrielle held on to her bag the whole reception and shared it all with us the next day.

cousin Lindsey and my Mom
Tabitha and cousin Stephanie's daughter Cassidy. Tabitha came running over after a few mintues of running around with her and said, "Cassidy will not hold my hand!" I think the running was rather Tabitha chasing her and Cassidy running away.Brothers Jeff and Scott with Gabrielle. The girls sure love their uncles.

Name
I have been trying to help Gabrielle write her name all summer. She has a long name poor girl and she has done pretty good but only with certain letters. She insists that she can only write E L B I, she is lucky that she has two E's and L's. I always have to write her G A and R with no desire for her to learn or practice. I had the kids write their name the second day of pre-school and this is what Gabrielle did, all by herself! She has always been pretty stubborn, just like her parents, so it looks like she probably knew how to write it all along but didn't want to do it until she was ready.

Enjoying the fruits of our labors

We have been enjoying eating from our garden the last several weeks. Last night we made some yummy blackberry ice cream and there are a lot more, so I am sure we will be having a lot of ice cream. We made homemade salsa with tomatoes, two kinds of peppers and cilantro that we picked and also some corn on the cob with our chicken. It is so so fun to eat at the end of the season after several months of weeding and watering and watching everything grow. We have also been getting 3-5 eggs everyday from our chickens. The kids enjoy going out every afteroon with their chicken boots and collecting the eggs.Friday, September 10, 2010
It's that time of year

Gabrielle is so funny with these ice cream scoops and makes sure that blue is on the bottom and red is on the top. Her friends Quincy and William were over a few weeks ago and she is always sure to tell them where her loyalties lie, even though she loves to tease Brandon and say, "go BYU". It is always fun this time of year amongst the neighbors as to whom they support and the banter that goes back and forth.Thursday, September 9, 2010

Ballet

Gabrielle has a whole list of things that she wants to be when she grows up and she was able to start fulfilling one of those things this morning. We have signed her up for ballet and it was the cutest thing ever. 5 little girls in pink, pointing their toes and smiling at themselves in the mirror and doing their best to follow their teacher.
