Spa party

Gabrielle wanted a spa party with friends this year for her birthday.  We did oatmeal facials, which surprisingly the girls were totally grossed out by!  We decorate flip flops with ribbons, soaked feet and painted nails.  Gabrielle and I made bath salts that the girls took home.  Emily and Kristen were a huge help and I think the girls had fun.  Gabrielle got a desk and she had a great time this afternoon setting it up.  When Brandon came home from work we drove down to Orem and saw Finding Dory.  It was so cute!  Emily had seen it a few weeks ago but liked it so much she came again with us, even crying for a second time!

Happy Birthday Gabrielle

Gabrielle is 10!!  We slept over at my Mom's with Melissa and her kids so I picked up some doughnuts for breakfast and to double as her cake!  We had another fun day of swimming with the girls.  We will celebrate with Gabrielle's friends tomorrow.  We love Gabrielle, she is smart, funny, loves to read, misses school, loves her sister, even if they don't always get along!  I can't believe she is 10.

Cousins

Melissa and her kids drove up from Las Vegas this weekend.  They spent a few days with friends in Salt Lake and we met at my Mom's today for swimming, burger bar and a sleep over.  The girls had a great time playing together in and out of the pool.

Vernal

We stopped in Vernal on our way home for lunch and walked around the temple grounds.  I have wanted to come see this temple and have never been.  It is small, it was built from an existing tabernacle.  It would be fun to come back and do a session.  We got a huge rock chip on our drive home, it was loud and would have had to have been a large rock but we didn't see anything.  I have a long crack across my windshield that I have avoided getting replaced but now I really have to!

Dam tour

We took a tour of the dam this afternoon.  There are a lot of before, during and after pictures in the VC of the building of the dam which was cool to see.  We rode the elevator down to the bottom and were so close to all that water they are releasing.  There are fish right there can you can feed, we forgot to bring change but the girls just picked up food that dropped and fed the fish.

We had fun playing at the lake today.  We spent some time just playing on the beach in the water and sand.  We walked over to some cliffs and all took turns jumping off into the cold water!  I was super hesitant at first and it took me several tries to actually jump off but I am glad that I did.  I am proud of the girls for giving it a try and swimming around in the water afterwards.

Floating the Green River

Ryan brought his drift boat and Mom rented a raft and we planned to float down the green river today.  It was pretty busy at the drop off point and the river was super high.  Ryan had been there a few weeks before and normally the dock is not under water.  It usually takes about 3 hours to float down but when we rented the raft they said people were taking 1 1/2 hours!  The lake is so full they are releasing water into the river at 8600 cfs which is why the river was moving so fast.  We had so much fun the first time and the kids loved the rapids that we did it a second time which only took us an hour.  It was a beautiful day on the river.
