Happy Easter

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday, the weather was just perfect and it was so nice to be outside.  Diana made the girls darling dresses and even matching ones for the American girl dolls.  Tabitha gave a talk in primary and did a great job.  We had a fun Easter egg hunt, the girls had fun with Layni, she is such a cutie and walking around everywhere.  We enjoyed a yummy dinner, we are so lucky to have such a wonderful family.

Saturday

David tying flies while Tabitha teaches him how to fish, it was really cute to watch.

Back in December Brandon heard that the Mariners would be playing an exhibition game in Salt Lake so we got tickets.  We had so much fun at the game and it couldn't have been a more perfect day weather wise. The girls thought it was to hot so they spent most of their time sitting on the ground drinking slushies or lemonade.

We tried round two on dying eggs.  This time starting out with the right mixture and the eggs turned out great.  The girls had fun doing some more eggs and writing secrets notes and pictures on the eggs with their crayons.

Dying Easter eggs

Tonight we dyed Easter eggs with Emily and Diana.  I read the instructions, but not fully and filled the cup all the way up with the tablet.  The tablet was not dissolving so after trying one batch with each color we decided to start again.  So, I ran to the store for another set of coloring tablets.  Emily sat down to do it filling the cup up halfway to let the tablet dissolve and then add water.  When she reached for the vinegar it really was ammonia and we realized why it wasn't working and why everyone was dying with the strong smell!!  The vinegar worked so much better and the girls had fun dying the rest of eggs.  We had a good laugh.

St. Patrick's Sunday

We had fun celebrating  St. Patrick's day today.  Brandon made green pancakes for breakfast and we had cornbeef, green fruit and lime sherbet floats for dinner.  I am Irish through my Great Grandfather Gibson, my Grandma Lucas's Dad.

Baby chicks

Brandon and the girls picked up 3 baby chicks last night.  This has been a fun tradition in the spring the last few years.  The girls love to go down and check on them and watch them as they grow.  Gabrielle named hers "snow white", Tabitha's is "fire" and Brandon's is "bandit".   We have 7 chickens in our coop, when these chicks are ready to go outside he will get rid of 4 of the chickens.  They only lay eggs for a few years so it is just part of the process to send to them to "chicken heaven".

Let's play ball!

Tabitha and I tossed a baseball back and forth this afternoon, her choice.  She wanted to look just like the players do so she ran and found her hat.  She was so cute as she tried several time and successfully caught the ball.  The first image is super blurry but I love her face and that you can see the ball in the photo.  We are all ready for spring and are loving the warmer temps we have had this week.

Sunday

We had to be out of our condo by 10 this morning and with Daylight Savings taking one of our hours it was a rushed morning.  We drove to my Grandpa Lucas's house and visited with family for a bit and then went and said goodbye to Kristen and Scott who were staying her Kristen's parents house.  Then we hit the road. Tabitha was not feeling that good and slept for about an hour and a half.  The car ride went pretty smoothly until we were about 45 min from home, I think we were all tired and ready to get out of the car.

St. George

We drove down to St. George Friday afternoon for my niece Megan's wedding.  We stayed in a condo with Kathryn, Cole, Layni, Kristen and Ryan.  Layni is walking everywhere and the girls loved being with her.  I was commenting how good Layni is and that she hardly ever cries and Tabitha responded, "She cries a little when I push her down!"  Brandon, Cole and Ryan spent a few hours in Mesquite Friday night and the girls hung out at my Grandpa's house.  Saturday morning we went to a wildlife museum, the weather was cold and rainy, but we had a good time.  We then got ready and headed to the wedding at the Dixie Center.  We have a great family and so many turned up to support Megan.  It is always fun to get together.
Gabrielle, my Mom and her sister Leslie
My cousin Melissa and Lindsey's girls, Maren, Faye, Evey and Anna
 Megan
My Mom's brother Blair and Dad, Grandpa Lucas
My cousin Blair Jr.'s wife Sara and son Everett with Kathryn and Layni
Tabitha, posing in her cute dress.  She twirled and posed and danced around all night, she loved getting all dressed up!

Kathryn, cousin Lindsey and her new baby Jimmy

My Aunt Wendy wanted a picture of all the grand kids and great grand kids with Grandpa Lucas, then another with spouses and parents.  My Mom is the oldest of 6 kids, Blair, Wendy, Leslie, Caroline and Heather.  There are 24 grand kids and 23 great grand kids with one on the way that I know of.  It is fun when we can all get together despite being scattered all over the country.
Cole and Layni
 Ryan and Kristen
Tabitha eating the frosting, the only thing she eats from a cupcake. However, she informed me the other day that she is learning to eat the whole thing.

Everyone had fun dancing.  All the little girls had been dancing most of night, the adults joined in for a few of the songs.

Silly Tabitha Sunday

Tabitha did not want to do our photo today.  We had to do several takes before we got the last one that she is somewhat looking and smiling.  The second one Brandon is holding her down and she was fake crying and trying to get away.   Our photos have not been perfect and I usually just take what I get.  I am sure glad that I am doing these, they have been fun to look back over..
