Sunday movie night

Since there is no school tomorrow we decided to have movie night tonight, we watched Pirates of the Caribbean.

Ogden Temple Openhouse

I took the girls out of school early today and we headed to Ogden to walk through the Ogden Temple.  We picked up my Mom and met Layni and Kathryn there.  It is a beautiful building and grounds, I am glad that we got to walk through.  It is the temple that I went through for the first time.  We all went to dinner and were joined by Kristen and Ryan.

Happy Anniversary

Brandon and I celebrated 12 years of marriage today!  We had a very low key day at home.  After church we had dinner and the girls put on a spa for us.  I sure do love Brandon and my little family, so grateful for them!  Brandon loves gardening.  This year he and the girls were super excited about the little watermelon, they loved watching as it got bigger and bigger.

Aquarium

We had bounce back tickets to the aquarium from when we went in April with Brandon's family.  We had to use them by the end of August so we headed down there today.  It was just as crowded as the first time but a few more exhibits were open.  We saw a 4D movie about sharks, which was fun.

Wicked

 

 We got tickets a year ago to Wicked, I was excited to be able to take Gabrielle.  I told her about it a few months ago and she was super excited, we have been listening to the music and talking a little bit about the story.   We met Kristen, Kathryn and my Mom for dinner at City Creek.   We walked around a bit shopping and then walked to the theater in the rain.  This is my fourth time seeing it and it was just as good as the first, but each performance has their own touches, especially with some of the characters.  Gabrielle loved it and loved being out with the big girls.

The minute Tabitha heard about our date she was excited to go on her own date with Brandon.  She wanted to go bowling, have pizza and see a movie.  They went to fat cats in Salt Lake and bowled and then had pizza.  Maleficent was playing at the dollar theater in Sugarhouse, they both loved it.

First day of School!!

 

The girls started school today!  This is the first year that I was not ready for summer to end.  It is always good to get back into a routine and schedule but we had had a fun summer.  They are both super excited about their teachers and the friends that are in class with them.  Tabitha is looking forward to eating lunch in the cafeteria.

Camping Sunday

 

After breakfast and packing up camp we set out on a short walk to a lily pond.  We passed two of them that didn't look so good and no lily pads so we kept walking and our short walk turned into a mile long hike to a much bigger lake with lily pads.  Such a beautiful sight.  Tabitha was disappointed because the flowers on the lily pads were yellow not pink!  The dogs had fun running around and swimming.   We then walked back to camp and headed home.  Such a fun weekend and good way to send out the summer.  School starts on Tuesday.

Mirror Lake

We had another fun fun at Mirror Lake with lots of fish being caught.

There is a trail that goes around the entire lake that we had fun on. Kristen and Ryan had their dog Koda and we had Winston, so the girls had to each try and take turns walking the dogs.   My Mom has a wildflower book that she brings every year so she and Tabitha enjoyed finding and pointing out several flowers along the path.

 Emily drove up after lunch to join us for the rest of they day.  She caught a fish right away!

It was fun watching the girls climb back and forth along these rocks and into the water.  They were in heaven despite the cold water and wet bums, Tabitha fell in!

 Game playing while dinner cooked in the dutch ovens.  Boys...poker and girls...mermaid card game and bones.

Sure do love my family, I especially love Tabitha and Kristen's poses in this photo!

Mirror Lake

We headed to Mirror Lake today for our annual Uintah camping trip with my family.  We all arrived and set up camp and ate dinner and then headed to the lake for some fishing.  I am always amazed at how beautiful it is.   There were several fish caught and Layni loved her Tinkerbell fishing pole that the girls brought for her.  We enjoyed smore's and treats while sitting around the camp fire.
